Silent Sighs Sidelined Due to Bone Chips
"She has two chips in the left (ankle) and one in the right," Canani said. "She'll have surgery (to remove them) on either Wednesday or Thursday. Her ankles are still tight and cold, but the chips are there. She's not in any pain, which is good. (The chips) are in good places, too, so they just have to go in and out." Silent Sighs, a 3-year-old bay daughter of Benchmark and the Bertrando mare Quiet Romance, won the Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I), Sunshine Millions Oaks and California Breeders' Championship Stakes, and also finished second in the Cal Cup Juvenile Fillies. Overall she's won four of six starts for earnings of $442,700. Canani said Silent Sighs will recuperate over the summer at her owners' River Edge Farm in Buellton, Calif. |
