An
In Excess filly was among the standout performers Saturday during the second session of the under tack show for the Barretts May sale of 2-year-olds in training. She turned in the fastest eighth of a mile work, covering the distance in :10 at Fairplex Park in Southern California. Consigned by Terry Oliver agent, she is out of the winning
Devil's Bag mare Dealinwiththedevil and is from the family of grade I winner Clear Choice.
Oliver purchased the In Excess filly for $30,000 at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company yearling sale last August. She also is a graduate of last year's Keeneland January horses of all ages auction, where Green River Farms bought her for $12,000.
It'z All Mine, a
Belong to Me filly, set the pace at a quarter-mile with a clocking of :21.1. Consigned by Sequel Bloodstock, agent, she is out of the Talinum mare French Lavender, who is a half-sister to stakes winner Jera and to stakes producers Frisson and Verabald. Frissom is the dam of grade III winner Sky Blue Pink. Becky Thomas of Sequel purchased It'z All Mine for $50,000 at the 2003 Fasig-Tipton July yearling auction.
A
Crafty Prospector colt was the fastest worker at three furlongs with a time of :33.5. Consigned by Oliver, as agent, he is the first foal out of the
Silver Deputy mare Kidnap, who is a half-sister to stakes winner Steal a Heart, who is by Crafty Prospector. Oliver purchased the colt for $130,000 at last year's Keeneland September yearling sale. The colt was a $60,000 buy-back when consigned by Oiiver, as agent, to the Fasig-Tipton Florida juvenile auction this past February at Calder Race Course.
The Barretts May sale is scheduled for Tuesday, starting at 11 a.m. (PDT).
