(from Churchill Downs report)
Racing fans at Churchill Downs and its simulcast locations throughout North America will be chasing a $856,000 Pick Six carryover, the largest in track history, when betting opens on Thursday.

The Pick Six requires patrons to pick the winners of six consecutive races. Thursday's Pick Six wager at Churchill Downs will be comprised of races 5-10 and post time for the fifth race is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. EDT.

There were no perfect tickets in the Pick Six on Kentucky Oaks Day or Kentucky Derby Day, which allowed the carryover to soar to $268,246 heading into Wednesday's racing. Bettors added another $966,743 into the Pick Six pool on Wednesday, but no perfect tickets remained after 66-1 longshot Marnie's Heirloom scored a front-running victory in the 10th race. Three tickets did include five of the day's six winners and each was good for a consolation payout of $62,255.
