Kentucky Horseman Doug Arnold Buys Kissin Kris and Lost Soldier

Doug Arnold, owner of Buck Pond Farm near Versailles, Ky., has purchased Florida stallions Kissin Kris and Lost Soldier. The two 14-year-old stallions, who stand at Franks Farms near Ocala, Fla., will remain there until the end of the breeding season, after which a decision will be made where to stand them."They might stand up here, or we might keep them in Florida," Arnold said.Both stallions currently stand for $7,500 as the property of the Franks estate.Kissin Kris, a millionaire son of Kris S. out of the Your Alibhai mare Toes Forward, has sired 11 stakes winners, including three this year, and the earners of $9.5 million. His added-money winners include Canadian champion Kiss a Native, who won the May 1 John Henry Handicap, plus grade III winner Cellars Shiraz, a $728,410-earner, and Canadian grade II winner Smoocher.Lost Soldier, a graded stakes-winning son of Danzig out of the Secretariat mare Lady Winborne, has sired seven stakes winners and the earners of $4.9 million. He is the sire of graded stakes winners Lush Soldier (in Canada) and Lost At Sea.
