Read the Footnotes, worked at Palm Meadows on Wednesday.
Klaravich Stables' Read the Footnotes, winner of the Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. II), turned in his main workout for the May 1 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) when he breezed five furlongs in :59 3/5 at Palm Meadows in Florida on Wednesday.

"He went as good as you would want him to go," trainer Rick Violette said of the Smoke Glacken   colt. "I was very pleased, from start to finish. He went down the lane well and galloped out three-quarters (of a mile) in 1:11 3/5."

Violette said Read the Foodnotes will ship to Louisville, Ky. on Friday and will have a half-mile "blowout" at Churchill Downs on Monday. Robby Albarado will ride the colt in the Derby.

"Right now, all he needs to do is go a half in 47 seconds or 50 seconds Monday, but it doesn't matter because the main work is done. Right now, all we have to do is get him to the Derby in one piece."

Bred in New York by Lawrence Goichman, Read the Footnotes has won five of seven career starts and earned $450,660.
