OBS Sale Up, RNA Rate Low on Second Day

With seven horses selling for $100,000 or more and very low RNA rate, the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s April juvenile sale had a very strong second session Tuesday. The four-day sale continues through Thursday.
On Tuesday, there were 223 2-year-olds sold and only 34 listed as bought back, an RNA rate of just 13.2%. The 223 sold for $6,048,600, an average of $27,124.
On Monday and Tuesday combined, there have been 396 youngsters sold for $10,617,700, an average of $26,812. Another 99 horses, 20%, have been bought back. The gross is up 37.3% and the average an increase of 23.5% over the first two days last year, when 356 had been sold for $7,730,500, an average of $21,715.
The high price on Tuesday was $250,000 paid by Jim McIngvale for a
Halo's Image colt out of the
Distinctive Pro mare Next Kindofmiracle. The Florida-bred colt, named Distinctive Image, was sold by Mirage Bloodstock as agent.
The most for a filly was the $210,000 paid by trainer Steve Klesaris as agent for Puglisi Stable for a daughter of
Golden Missile out of the Rollicking mare Regal Rollick. Sold by Farnsworth Farms, agent, she is a half-sister to stakes winner D'Part.
