Three Southern California-based contenders for Saturday's $300,000 Texas Mile (gr. III) -- Snorter, Kela and Taste of Paradise -- arrived at Lone Star Park on Monday.

Snorter, a 4-year-old son of Awesome Again   will be saddled by longtime Frankel assistant Humberto Ascanio.

"He looks like he's come around this year, especially in his last race," Ascanio said from his Santa Anita base. "He took a little more time just naturally coming around. He's in good form right now and I expect him to run a good race."

The latest probables for Saturday's Texas Mile, according to stakes coordinator Michael Shamburg, are: Crafty Shaw, Kela, Mountain General, Pie N Burger, Snorter, Supah Blitz, Taste of Paradise, Wishingitwas and Yessirgeneralsir.

Toccet will not make the race because he "could not get a ride down there," according to owner Dan Borislow.
