OBS Sale Average Up First Day; $350,000 for A.P. Jet Colt

Four horses brought $100,000 or more and the average increased 8.5% Monday during the first of four days of selling at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s spring auction.The top price was $350,000 which Sheikh Mohammed's agent John Ferguson paid for a colt by A. P. Jet out of the Wavering Monarch mare Manor Queen. Named Blue Sunday, the colt is a half-brother to stakes winner Infinite Justice. He was consigned by Nick de Meric, agent.A colt from the first crop by Tiger Ridge out of the Tri Jet mare Jet n' Tune brought $210,000. Consigned by Hartley/De Renzo, agent, he was purchased by Narvick International.Two colts brought $100,000 each: a Doneraile Court -- Let It Air colt sold by Oxbow Racing to Harry Aleo; and a Notebook -- Miss Skippy colt sold by Sequel Bloodstock, agent, to Brian Koriner.Overall, 173 2-year-olds were sold for $4,569,100, an average of $26,411. There were 65 juveniles, 27.3%, listed as not sold.
