Coolmore-controlled stallion King Of Kings has been re-located to New Zealand for the 2004 season. The 9-year-old son of Sadler's Wells out of the Habitat mare Zummerudd is to be rostered at Ray Knight's Ashwell Farm near Cambridge in the heart of the Waikato region.King Of Kings has worked six seasons at Coolmore's Australian spread in the Hunter Valley. His oldest southern-breds are four. His latest yearlings have averaged a disappointing $24,706 (Australian funds) on a $20,000 fee. None made it to the Easter sale and only two to the Magic Millions.Yet his stock has been high in New Zealand with King's Chapel. Appropriately for the son of an English Two Thousand Guineas (Eng-I) winner, King's Chapel landed the New Zealand equivalent in November. King's Chapel has since landed two more group I races against older horses, including the Telegraph at 1,200 meters.Rostered at Coolmore's Ashford Stud from 1999, King Of Kings worked at East Stud in Japan in 2003 and stayed south this year. He will enter at Ashwell at an $8,000 fee.
