Padua Stable's Class Above, winner of the Bourbonette Breeders' Cup at Turfway Park, prepared for the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) with a strong five-furlong work Monday at Churchill Downs.

The daughter of Quiet American   zipped the distance over a "fast" track in :59 under exercise rider Dana Barnes. Baffert said the move was better than it looked because he felt the track, although dry, was a bit deep throughout the breezy, warm morning of training.

"The track was very demanding today -- it was dry and deep and then she ran into a headwind," said Baffert. "She went nice. She got a good work out of it. That's a hell of a work on this track today."

Baffert's other Oaks hopeful, Thomas Van Meter II's Stonerside Beaumont (gr. III) winner Victory U.S.A., breezed on Sunday and walked under the shedrow on Monday.
