Nopro Blama, the dam of graded stakes winning sprinter Soviet Problem, was euthanized April 12 at Dr. Dede McGehee's Heaven Trees Farm near Lexington.
The 20-year-old mare, owned by Gerald and Tina Stone of Canada, was not in foal. Her last foal is a yearling colt by El Corredor that will be sold at the Keeneland September sale. Nopro Blama (Dimaggio -- In Prime Time, by Boldnesian) was bred by Harris Farms and Don Valpredo.
Soviet Problem (by Moscow Ballet), a California champion sprinter, won 15 of 20 races and earned $905,546. She won 10 stakes but is probably best known for running second to Cherokee Run, beaten just a head, in the 1994 Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I).
