Live Racing will return to Finger Lakes Race Track on Friday and will mark the first time racing and video gaming will take place simultaneously. Doors will open to the gaming floor at 10 a.m. following an official grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony. Post time for the first race is 12:50 p.m.
The opening day card is highlighted by the eighth race, a $16,500 open allowance for fillies and mares 3-year-old and up. Hostility, who leads the field in earnings, will make her Finger Lakes debut as the morning line favorite at 2-1. The 4-year-old filly trained by Samuel J. Keyrouze defeated an allowance field at Charlestown by 5 1/4 lengths at the same 4 1/2-furlong distance.
The first 3,000 guests 18 and over will receive a free Finger Lakes hat. Player Extras members will also have a chance to enter to win a trip for two to the 2004 Kentucky Derby (gr. I).
Finger Lakes will offer live racing every Friday and Saturday with a first post at 12:50 p.m. and Monday and Tuesday with a 1:10 p.m. start until the first week of May, when Saturdays will be added to the schedule.
