Two of trainer Bob Baffert's hopes for success on Kentucky Derby (gr. I) weekend arrived at Churchill Downs Wednesday.
James McIngvale's Wimbledon, a Kentucky Derby hopeful and winner of the Louisiana Derby (gr. II), arrived at the Louisville track following a flight from Baffert's Southern California base at Santa Anita. He was accompanied on the plane by Padua Stable's Class Above, winner of the Bourbonette Breeders' Cup at Turfway Park and a contender for the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I).
They join two other Baffert-trained Derby and Oaks contenders on the grounds--Mike Pegram's Derby contender Preachinatthebar, winner of the San Felipe Stakes (gr. II), and Thomas Van Meter II's Oaks hopeful Victory U.S.A., who defeated champion Halfbridled in the Stonerside Beaumont (gr. II) at Keeneland.
