Catienus sired his first winner from his first starter. Daughter Lisa's Cat, a homebred for Ken and Sarah Ramsey, debuted with a narrow, hard-fought win at 4 1/2 furlongs April 8 at Keeneland .
Ken Ramsey claimed Catienus for $50,000 from Sheikh Mohammed in 1999 and promptly won a stakes with the son of
Storm Cat. Catienus, who later placed in four graded stakes, concluded his racing career with career earnings of $370,386. He stood at Ramsey Farm near Nicholasville, Ky., before being moved to Highcliff Farm near Delanson, N.Y., where he stands for $3,500.
Ten-year-old Catienus is out of the graded stakes-placed Mr. Prospector mare Diamond City.
