Padua Stables' multiple stakes winner Class Above will make her next start in the April 30 Kentucky Oaks (gr. I), trainer Bob Baffert said, after the bay daughter of
Quiet American worked seven furlongs in 1:23 2/5 under regular exercise rider Dana Barnes at Santa Anita Tuesday morning.
"She worked nicely," Baffert said. "(The Oaks) is the plan and I'm just going to train her up to it."
Class Above won the Bourbonette Breeders' Cup Stakes at Turfway Park on March 20 by 3 ½ lengths in her last start and also won last year's Kentucky Cup Juvenile Fillies over the same track by 16 lengths. From five starts, the Kentucky-bred filly has reached the winner's circle three times and has banked $184,400.
Golden Eagle Farm's Santa Ynez Stakes (gr. II) winner Yearly Report, who was forced to miss the Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I) due to illness, worked a half-mile in :47 3/5, handily. No next start has been picked out for the California-bred daughter of General Meeting.
Baffert also sent out San Pedro Stakes winner Courageous Act for a half-mile drill, which he accomplished in :46 4/5. According to Baffert, the son of
Exploit will most likely race in the April 24 Derby Trial Stakes (gr. III) at Churchill Downs, joining stablemate Odds On in the gate.
