Lion Heart had a bullet work Monday in preparation for the Toyota Blue Grass.
Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I) hopefuls Lion Heart and Preachinatthebar led the Monday morning worktab at Santa Anita. Lion Heart earned the bullet for five furlongs in :58 2/5 and Preachinatthebar posted a time of :59 1/5 for the same distance.

Lion Heart was caught galloping out six furlongs in 1:11 1/5 and in 1:25 2/5 for seven-eighths of a mile. The chestnut son of Tale of the Cat was expected to start in last Saturday's Santa Anita Derby (gr. I), but trainer Patrick Biancone decided to wait an extra week and use the Blue Grass as his final Kentucky Derby (gr. I) prep.

"He worked as well as I was expecting him to," Biancone said. "The extra week did him a lot of good. We're just going step by step and we'll see where we are for the Derby after the Blue Grass.

"He scoped clean (after the work) and jumped on his (feed tub). I'm extremely happy with how he's doing for this race."

Lion Heart, who won last year's Hollywood Futurity (gr. I) and Hollywood Prevue Stakes (gr. I), was second in the March 6 San Rafael Stakes (gr. II) in his 3-year-old debut.

Preachinatthebar, who was victorious by a nose in the March 14 San Felipe Stakes (gr. II), had regular exercise rider Dana Barnes aboard for the move, which was the seventh-fastest of 63 who went five furlongs on Monday morning.

"He's doing really good," trainer Bob Baffert said. "He just cruised around there."

In addition to his San Felipe win, Preachinatthebar was third in the Sham Stakes on Feb. 8.

Both Preachinatthebar and Lion Heart will ship to Kentucky early Wednesday morning.

Baffert also sent Wood Memorial Stakes (gr. II) hopeful Consecrate out for his final prep for Saturday's nine-furlong event and the gray son of Silver Charm posted a half-mile in :46 3/5. Consecrate, who was second in the March 28 WinStar Derby at Sunland Park, will be ridden by Jorge Chavez in the Wood.

Odds On, gearing up for a possible start in the April 24 Derby Trial (gr. III) at Churchill Downs, went six furlongs in 1:25 2/5.

Over at Hollywood Park, fellow Wood hopeful Master David went five furlongs in 1:00 3/5 for trainer Bobby Frankel.
