Dahlia's Dreamer, one of four grade I winners from the great racemare and producer Dahlia (by Vaguely Noble), was euthanized Feb. 17 because of lymphangitis. Owned by Richard Santulli and George Prussin's Jayeff B Stable, the 15-year-old daughter of
Theatrical was kept at the Hancock family's Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky. She was not bred this year.
Bred by the late Allen Paulson, Dahlia's Dreamer raced for Paulson's wife, Madeleine, winning five of 22 starts and earning $333,956. Her big win came in the 1994 Flower Bowl Invitational Handicap (gr. IT) a year after she ran second in the race.
Dahlia's Dreamer produced four named foals, one of which is a winner. She was a half-sister to five graded or group winners, including grade I winners Dahar, Delegant, and Rivlia.
