Late Nominations to Triple Crown Drop to 14

Contrary to information released Tuesday by Triple Crown Productions, Gregory Kaufman's Kaufy Mate has not been nominated to the Visa Triple Crown. A follow-up press release issued Wednesday attributed the mistake to "miscommunication" between Kaufman and Triple Crown Productions.
The departure of Kaufy Mate leaves the number of late nominations at 14. There are 448 3-year-olds nominated to this year's Triple Crown, the third highest since 1986.
