Excessivepleasure became the latest California-bred millionaire Saturday when he finished third in the $1 million Godolphin Mile (UAE-II) at Nad al Sheba.

The 4-year-old son of In Excess, out of the Falstaff mare Pleasing, was bred by Cypress 1991 and Vessels Stallion Farm and is owned by Ty and Lee Leatherman. Sent off at odds of 25-1, he picked up $100,000 in the race, raising his career earnings to $1,021,382.

He is California's 36th millionaire Thoroughbred.

The $17,000 Barretts purchase was coming off a 10th-place finish in the Jan. 24 Sunshine Millions Classic. He has four wins in 15 races.
