Churchill Downs' board of directors has nominated Susan E. Packard to the position of director. If approved by a vote of the Company's shareholders this spring, Packard will fill the position vacated by Frank B. Hower Jr., who will assume director emeritus status following the annual meeting of shareholders in June 2004. Packard serves as president of affiliate sales and international development for Scripps Networks, a division of media company E.W. Scripps. Packard oversees all distribution of Scripps-owned cable networks to cable operators, satellite distributors and television stations and manages a team that sells Scripps-owned cable content internationally and works to create global brands by developing strategic alliances with domestic and international partners. She is also an officer of Scripps Networks Inc., which includes some of the nation's most popular lifestyle cable networks: Home & Garden Television, Food Network, DIY-Do It Yourself Network, Fine Living, and Shop At Home Network...
