Gotham Stakes (gr. III) runner-up Pomeroy arrived back at trainer Patrick Biancone's Santa Anita base late Tuesday night and will now begin preparations for his next start in the $325,000 April 17 Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland. "It's official," Biancone said. "He'll run next in the Lexington. He came back in good shape. He shipped well and he's happy to be home." Biancone wouldn't say if Pomeroy would be considered for the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) with a top performance in the Lexington. He said the colt will to ship to Kentucky with the majority of Biancone's stable after the first week of April. Pomeroy, a bay son of Boundary and the Seeking the Gold mare Questress has won two of five starts with two seconds and a third for earnings of $128,000. Of his total bankroll, $80,000 is graded earnings. Besides the Gotham, he finished second in the Saratoga Special (gr. II) and third via disqualification in the Kentucky Cup Juvenile (gr. III).
