Mandella Sending Pair to Keeneland

Trainer Richard Mandella is sending both champion Halfbridled and Minister Eric to compete at Keeneland. Halfbridled is pointed toward the April 2 Ashland Stakes (gr. I) and Minister Eric is scheduled to run in the April 10 Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I).

Wertheimer Farm's daughter of Unbridled finished second in her 2004 debut in the Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I) last weekend. Minister Eric finished third in a March 13 optional allowance claiming contest at Santa Anita.

"Right now, the plan is to ship her (Halfbridled) into Mike Stidham's barn for the Ashland," Mandella said in a released statement from Keeneland. "I think I'll send Minister Eric for the Blue Grass as well."

Diamond A Racing Corporation's Minister Eric was the runner-up to B. Wayne Hughes' Action This Day in the Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) last fall .
