Mr. and Mrs. Martin Wygod's Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I) winner Silent Sighs will make her next start in the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I), trainer Julio Canani confirmed. The California-bred daughter of Benchmark--Quiet Romance, by Bertrando won the Oaks over champion Halfbridled in what was her first start outside of state-bred company.
"She came back super, " Canani said. "She ate up everything and looks good today. I went into battle with a pocket knife and she turned into a weapon of mass destruction. I don't have enough time to run her anywhere else, so I have no choice (but) to run her in the Oaks next."
Silent Sighs, who also won the Sunshine Millions Ocala Stud Farm Oaks and California Breeders' Champion Stakes, has earned $442,700 with four wins and a second in five career starts.
