Doug Arnold has announced that Evansville Slew has been purchased by his Buck Pond Farm near Lexington and will stand there starting March 9. The 12-year-old son of Slew City Slew out of the Fappiano mare Shape Shifter had previously stood at John T.L. Jones' Walmac International near Lexington. His 2004 fee will remain at $3,500 live foal.

"I think he's a horse that has been overlooked and I think his star will continue to rise," Arnold said. "He moves his mares up. He has a AEI (Average-Earnings Index) of 1.55 and his mares have a CI (Comparable Index) of 0.99. There aren't many that can move their mares up that much."

Evansville Slew, a four-time stakes winner as a 2-year-old including a victory in the Arlington-Washington Futurity (gr. II), is the sire of 11 stakes winners. He was represented by five stakes winners in 2003. His most successful runner has been two-time graded stakes winner March Magic, an earner of $638,290.
