Indian Charlie Colt Tops OBS Under Tack Drills

A colt by Indian Charlie,worked a quarter mile in :21 3/5 to post to fastest workout at the distance at the second session of the Under Tack Preview for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2004 March Sale of Selected 2-Year-Olds in Training.

The dark bay or brown colt, Hip No. 290, consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), agent, is out of stakes placed Moonvain, by High Brite.

For the second straight day, the sale horses worked into a stiff headwind, which increased as the day progressed.

Three youngsters shared honors for the session's fastest eighth mile breeze, stopping the timer in :10 1/5.

Hip No. 273, consigned by Stephens Thoroughbred Farm, agent for Paragon Farm, is a dark bay or brown colt by Yankee Victor out of Mesmerized, by Dehere, a half sister to stakes winners Joyous Melody and Secret Rhapsody.

Hip No. 285, consigned by Terry Oliver, agent, is a gray or roan colt by Claramount out of Miss Tess (NZ), by One Pound Sterling, a full sister to stakes winners Fickle Fanny and Misstress.

Hip No. 300, consigned by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds LLC, agent, is a dark bay or brown filly by Tale of the Cat out of stakes winner My Pride N Joy, by Taylor Road, and is a half sister to stakes placed Joyously.

The session's other highlights included quarters in :21 4/5 by two horses. Hip No. 383, Takeadvantageofme, is a bay colt by Tactical Advantage out of stakes placed Royal Confection, by Candi's Gold, consigned by Tony Bowling and Bobby Dodd, agent. Hip No. 385 is a dark bay or brown filly by Storm Creek out of Salty But Sweet, by Salt Lake, consigned by M & H Training and Sales, agent.

Horsemen can see the March Sale Horses in action again next Saturday and Sunday at the Under Tack Show. Hip No's 1-242 will work on Saturday and Hip No's 243-484 will be on the track on Sunday. Both sessions begin at 9 a.m.
