Georgica Stable's Master David, who was expected to be one of the favorites in Gulfstream's $1 million Florida Derby (gr. I) March 13, spiked a temperature on Thursday and will not be shipped to Florida, trainer Bobby Frankel said.

Master David was originally due to ship to Gulfstream from California on Wednesday, but will now remain at Hollywood Park.

With Master David out, the Florida Derby field now stands at six, with Fountain of Youth Stakes winner, Read The Footnotes heading the group. Also expected to run are Friends Lake, Sir Oscar, Tapit, The Cliff's Edge and Value Plus.
