The grade III status of the Las Cienegas Stakes run April 10 at Santa Anita has been restored following a review by the American Graded Stakes Committee.

Status of the race had been automatically downgraded to a listed stakes because the race had been moved from the turf course to the dirt main track. The automatic downgrade by one level is standard policy for the AGSC when a race that is scheduled for the turf course is moved to the dirt track after closing of nominations. This downgrade occurs when the turf course is deemed unsuitable for racing, and will apply for that running of the race only.

The committee does promptly review the running of any automatically downgraded race, to assess whether its previous status will be reinstated.

Dreamologist won the Las Cienegas, which was moved from the turf to dirt due to rain. Her first stakes victory now also becomes her first graded stakes win.
