Wagering through TV Games Network rose 34% in 2003 to $213,725,181 and television distribution of the network increased by 45%, the company reported Thursday.
TVG's 2003 handle was up from $159,268,555 in 2002 and established a new record for the company. Fourth quarter handle was $63,333,520, a 37% increase from the previous year's corresponding quarter.
"In many ways 2003 was a breakthrough year for our network," said Ryan O'Hara, the newly appointed chief operating officer of TVG. "In addition to significant growth in wagering, we also added a large number of distribution channels throughout the country. As to the future, we are poised for even greater growth and that can only benefit racing fans and our various industry partners, including horsemen, race tracks and distributors."
TVG is now available in 12.3 million homes through cable and satellite television distribution.
