Azeri breezed five furlongs in :58 3/5 Wednesday at Santa Anita under the watchful eye of owner Michael Paulson.

"She looked fabulous," Paulson said of the 2002 Horse of the Year who is now in the care of Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas. "They had her well under control and she was just cruising. She looked great.

He said the $500,000 Apple Blossom Handicap (gr. I) at Oaklawn Park on April 3 remains a possibility.

"It's on our target screen but she'll dictate when she comes back," Paulson said. "She just went five furlongs and went very smooth and looked great."
