Churchill Downs will add a pair of permanent large-screen video display boards to its infield tote boards in a $1.5 million project designed to enhance the experience of the daily racing fan.
Each of the video display boards measures approximately 18 feet high and 36 feet wide. One screen will be incorporated into each of the existing tote boards located on either side of the track's infield pagoda and Kentucky Derby winner's circle. The new video display boards, which are manufactured by Daktronics Inc., will be installed atop the existing tote boards.
The video boards will show live video and instant replays along with statistics and other video images. They will be operational for the Churchill Downs' spring meet, which runs from April 24 through July 5.
