A trio of stakes winners highlight the field for Saturday's $100,000 Herecomesthebride Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Gulfstream Park. The Herecomesthebride, which is the eighth event on the 11-race card, drew 14 but the 1 1/8-mile race will be limited to a dozen starters.
Stakes winners Bobbie Use, Vous, and Pink Champagne will lead the full field of fillies and mares. Bobbie Use, trained by Richard Dutrow, Jr., won the Tropical Park Oaks at Calder in her last out, beating Cold Wynter and Last Waltz, who will again challenge her Saturday.
The daughter of leading Maryland sire Not for Love drew post six and will have Eibar Coa back on board.
Tim Hills trains Vous , a Wild Rush filly who won the Nov. 29 Hollywood Wildcat Stakes at Calder, beating Honey Ryder and Chelsea's Pearl, who will challenge her again on Saturday. Vous made her 3-year-old debut in a turf allowance on Feb. 9 and was beaten a head by Last Waltz after encountering traffic trouble. Joe Bravo has the mount again from post seven.
Pink Champagne, who goes from post 10 with Pat Day aboard, won the Natalma Stakes (Can-III) at Woodbine in her 2-year-old finale on Sept. 6. She did not return to the races until Jan. 1, when she ran fourth behind Bobbie Use in the Tropical Park Oaks. She has been working for this race at trainer John Kimmel's Payson Park headquarters.
