Capac, strong winner of a Feb. 4 allowance race at Laurel Park, is scheduled to make his stakes debut in the $40,000 Miracle Wood Stakes Feb. 28 at the Maryland racetrack.

The Miracle Wood, for 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles, drew a field of eight. Capac, owned by Jayeff B Stable and John Fike, drew post position seven. Jeremy Rose was named to ride by trainer Mike Bell. All entrants are listed to carry 115 pounds.

Capac finished third in his career debut at two last October at Keeneland, then followed up with a victory in maiden special weight company in November at Churchill Downs. Capac, by Deputy Minister out of the Seeking the Gold mare Winner's Edge, was shipped to Camden, S.C., where he trained through late January.

In his 3-year-old debut, Capac won the seven-furlong allowance test in 1:23 on a fast track as the heavy favorite. He started slowly and drifted out but still won by 3 3/4 lengths over Musical Vision and Lion Lad.

Here's the field, in post-position order, with jockeys:

1 Eastern Bay Mario Pino
2 Data Stream Jose Caraballo
3 Fine Strike J.D. Acosta
4 Wanaka Nick Petro
5 Acclimate Horacio Karamanos
6 Water Cannon Ryan Fogelsonger
7 Capac Jeremy Rose
8 Kwame Erick Rodriguez

The Miracle Wood is the eighth race on a nine-race program. Post time is 3:49 EST.
