Poised to Pounce, a 9-year-old daughter of Smarten believed to be in foal to Polish Numbers, was purchased by Dark Hollow Farm for $147,000 to top Monday's session of the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic December mixed sale in Timonium, Md. The session-topper, the dam of multiple stakes winner Quick 'n Smart (by Polish Numbers), was consigned by Chanceland Farm, agent. The sales company reported 186 horses averaged $7,853 from a gross of $1,460,700 during Monday's session. The sale concludes today... Bill Nader has been promoted to senior vice president of the New York Racing Association. Nader, who oversees marketing and simulcasting operations for the New York tracks, will assume additional responsibilities in admissions, mutuels, publicity, and sponsorships, said NYRA president and COO Terry Meyocks.
