Storm Cat, Unbridled's Song Offspring Among Hot Horses for Fasig-Tipton Calder Sale

Based on comments from buyers and consignors, Fasig-Tipton Florida's sale catalogue is full of quality 2-year-olds. Here's a some of the horses that were generating favorable buzz two day's prior to Tuesday's auction at Calder Race Course in South Florida:

Unbridled's Song -- Vennila Cream colt. Consigned by Hoby and Layna Kight, agents. A $285,000 graduate of last year's Keeneland September yearling sale, this colt is well-balanced and powerful-looking. He is a half-brother to stakes winner Kazoo (by Tabasco Cat).

Storm Cat -- Add colt. Consigned by Hoby and Layna Kight, agents. Hoby Kight purchased this colt for $350,000 at last year's Keeneland September yearling sale. He is a half-brother to stakes winner Inflate (by Forty Niner) and Multiply (by Easy Goer), the dam of grade II winner Desert Hero (by Sea Hero).

Fusaichi Pegasus -- Hidden Storm colt. Consigned by Kirkwood Stables, agent. Whitehorse Stable purchased this colt for $270,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling sale. His dam, an unraced daughter of Storm Cat, is a half-sister to grade III winner Jazz Club (by Dixieland Band).

One Smart Deputy, a Silver Deputy -- Awful Smart colt. Consigned by Maurice W. Miller III, agent. He is the first foal from a Black Tie Affair mare that finished second in the Test Stakes (gr. I) and third in the Gazelle Handicap (gr. III). Miller purchased him for $275,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling sale.

Fusaichi Pegasus -- Li Law colt. Consigned by Robert Scanlon, agent. Bred by Newbyth Stud, he is from the family of champion Banshee Breeze (by Unbridled).

Rubiano -- Magari colt. Consigned by H.T. Inc., agent for Cam Allard. Allard purchased this half-brother to stakes winner Afto (by Relaunch) for $140,000 at the 2003 Fasig-Tipton July select yearling sale.

Silver Ghost -- Magic Paintbrush colt. Consigned by Terry Oliver, agent. He is from the family of champion and classic winner Timber Country. Oliver purchased him for $55,000 at last year's Keeneland September yearling sale.

Stephen Got Even   -- Blacktie Bid colt. Consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, agent. Mike Ryan purchased him for $157,000 at last year's Fasig-Tipton July select yearling sale. His dam was a stakes winner, and his second dam, Degenerate Gal, was a grade II winner. Worked an eigthth of a mile in :10 2/5 in second under tack show and many people were impressed with the way he galloped out. Brennan caught the colt in gallop out times of :21 2/5 and :34 4/5.

Good and Tough -- Two Foxie filly. Consigned by Robert Scanlon, agent. A $60,000 yearling, she worked an eight in 9 4/5 seconds during the sale's first under tack show. No one can remember a sale 2-year-old working faster at Calder.

Unbridled's Song -- Special Mistress filly. Consigned by M & H Training and Sales, agent. A half-sister to grade II winner Twilight Time (by Twilight Agenda), she was bred by Charles and Marianne Hesse.
