Darley Stable's Maiden Tower has been installed the 118-pound highweight in the field of seven older fillies and mares that will contest Saturday's Buena Vista Handicap (gr. IIT) at Santa Anita Park.
Trained by Eoin Harty, Maiden Tower enters the Buena Vista off a 13th-place finish in the Matriarch Stakes (gr. IT), which was preceded by a runner-up effort in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (gr. IT) at Keeneland.
Among those facing Maiden Tower, who had three stakes wins to her credit in 2003, are Katdogawn and Personal Legend, the first- and second-place finishers in the Dahlia Handicap (gr. II).
The field for the Buena Vista, at 1 mile on turf, with weights and jockeys, consists of:
1 -- Maiden Tower, 118, David Flores
2 -- Katdogawn, 117, Mike Smith
3 -- Fudge Fatale, 115, Jose Valdivia
4 -- Drew Away, 113, Victor Espinoza
5 -- Fun House, 114, Gary Stevens
6 -- Southern Oasis, 114, Tyler Baze
7 -- Personal Legend, 115, Alex Solis
