For the first time, there will only be one set of workouts prior to the April 14-15 Tattersalls Breeze-Up Sale in Newmarket, England.

Workouts will take place April 13 at the Rowley Mile Racecourse. The sale, the equivalent of a horses in training sale, begins following the Newmarket races each of the two days following the workouts.

"Both vendors and purchasers were keen to have just the one breeze the day before the sale itself, and we feel it will benefit all parties," Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said. "For a while the vendors have felt that the first breeze served no obvious purpose, and with the quality of the sale improving all the time, the new format will also allow buyers to have seen all lots breeze before the start of the sale, while also providing more time to inspect and vet prospective purchases. Last year was a vintage year for the Breeze Up, with Champion Stayer Mr Dinos winning the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, and group winning 2-year-olds Fantastic View and Majestic Missile among the very best of their generation. The Breeze Up continues to be a sale very much on the upgrade, and the consignors look to have provided us with yet another very impressive catalogue."

Among the top British and Irish stallions with offspring in the sale are Danehill, Darshaan, Grand Lodge, In the Wings, Indian Ridge, Machiavellian, Pivotal, Royal Applause, and the 13-time leading sire Sadler's Wells.
