Timber Country to Dubai

Champion Timber Country, at Churchill Downs in 1998, is headed to Dubai.
U.S. classic winner and overseas stallion Timber Country will stand the 2001 season in Dubai.The 8-year-old son of Woodman will stand under a lease arrangement at Sheikh Mohammed's Emirates Stud Farm. He began his stallion career at the Yoshida family's Shadai Stallion Station in Japan.
Timber Country is the sire of Japanese stakes-placed runners Lady Muse, Air Peace, and Admire Touch. He is one of nine stakes winners produced from Fall Aspen (by Pretense).
Timber Country, who won the 1995 Preakness Stakes (gr. I) and was champion 2-year-old male the previous year, was sold his 3-year-old season to brothers Teruya and Katsumi Yoshida for $12 million. He was sent from Japan to Arrowfield Stud in Australia for the 2000 Southern Hemisphere season.
