Back Stress to Keep Krone on Sidelines

(from Santa Anita notes)
Julie Krone will not ride through this weekend, her agent, Brian Beach, said Friday morning.

"She tried to do too much too fast because she got fitter faster than she thought," Beach said. Krone rode three horses Wednesday, her first day back after missing two months due to injuries suffered in a spill at Hollywood Park on Dec. 12.

The 40-year-old Hall of Fame jockey took off her scheduled two mounts on Thursday, citing body soreness.

"She kind of overdid it," Beach said, "and it stressed her back. She worked a few horses at Hollywood Thursday morning but she's not going to ride again the rest of this weekend. We'll go at it again next week and go from there (to see when she resumes riding)."
