Gov. Kathleen Blanco has replaced Albert Stall Sr. as the chairman of the Louisiana Racing Commission. New Orleans attorney Bob Wright replaced Stall, who has been a commission member for 26 of the past 32 years, serving 18 years as chairman.

All eight sitting commission members were also replaced. Newly appointed to the commission are Ronald Alleman, Harry Avant, Herman Bowie, Ernest Colbert, Lester Colomb, Thomas Grimstad, Susan Neck, and Ray Todd Jr.

In appointing the new commission, the governor suggested adopting a rule prohibiting commission members or their immediate family from racing horses at tracks that they govern. Wright currently owns horses in Louisiana.
