Sylvester Carmouche riding Hallowed Dreams nears the finish line in the Louisiana Champions Day Lassie race at the Fair Grounds on Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999.
Hallowed Dreams, who won her first 16 career races before suffering her first loss this summer, has been installed as the 3-1 second-choice in the $60,000 Dr. A.B. Leggio Memorial Handicap Saturday at Fair Grounds. Four-time stakes winner Steal a Heart (5-2) is the morning-line favorite and the 122-pound co-highweight for the about 5 1/2-furlong turf race.

Hallowed Dreams returned from a two-month layoff to win a five-furlong optional claimer on firm turf at Louisiana Downs in October. A 3-year-old daughter of Malagra, Hallowed Dreams has won 17 of 18 career races and earned $404,044.

Steal a Heart finished second to Show Me the Stage in last year's Dr. Leggio, and was also second in her most recent start, Keeneland's A.P. Indy Stakes. The A.P. Indy was won by Dr. Leggio rival Chris's Thunder, a 5-year-old Rubiano mare who will go to post under 122 pounds with Shane Sellers in the irons.

The field for the Dr. A.B. Leggio will consist of:

1--Too Many, Austin Lovelace, 111, 12-1
