Jockey Santiago Wins Pair in Santa Anita Debut

Javier Santiago got off to a flying start in his United States debut, winning two races at Santa Anita on Wednesday, both for trainer Ruben Cardenas.

"This track was no different than Puerto Rico," said the 24-year-old Santiago, who won nearly 1,700 races in his native Puerto Rico.

"All the jockeys were nice to him when he got back to the room," agent Tony Matos said.
