Out of continuing concern for the condition of jockey Michael Rowland, injured in a three-horse spill at Turfway Park Wednesday, track officials have cancelled live racing for Thursday. The decision was made in consultation with the trainers and jockeys based at Turfway.

Rowland, 40, remains in critical condition at University Hospital in Cincinnati. He has been race riding for 24 years.

The accident happened as the field in the seventh race was making the turn into the stretch. Jockey Mark Johnston, 33, suffered a broken collarbone and was taken to University Hospital, where he was listed as stable. Jessica Endres, in her early 20s, was bruised and shaken but otherwise unhurt.
