Hold That Tiger to Shuttle to Australia

Hold That Tiger, who will stand his first season at stud this year at Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky., will shuttle to Australia for the Southern Hemisphere breeding season.
The 4-year-old son of
Storm Cat -- Beware of the Cat, by Caveat, is standing for $15,000 at Ashford. No stud fee was announced for his season at Collingrove Stud in the Victoria region of Australia.
Hold That Tiger was a group I winning juvenile in France, taking the Grand Criterium-Lucien Barriere. He also won the Anheuser Busch Railway Stakes (Ire-III), and shipped to the U.S. where he ran third, behind
Vindication and
Kafwain , in the Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I).
Hold That Tiger had a disappointing 3-year-old season in which he only hit the board once in five starts, that a second-place finish in the Woodward Stakes (gr. I) to Horse of the Year
Mineshaft . He won three of 10 starts and earned $644,235.
Also, Lion Hunter, the leading freshman sire in Australia in 2001-02, was euthanized after splitting his hind pastern. His kidneys failed following the accident.
Lion Hunter, by Danehill out of the Godswalk mare Pure of Heart, stood at Oaklands Stud. He hit the top of the freshman list because of dual group I winner Lovely Jubly.
