Trainer Todd Pletcher bought the first horse he has ever purchased for Bob and Beverly Lewis at public auction today, going to $425,000 for a colt by Sir Cat
out of the Red Ryder mare Limestone Landing at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s juvenile auction at Calder.
The colt was consigned by Tony and Robin Hendrix' Equine Legacy Farm as agent.
"Mr. Lewis said if you see something you would like to have in your barn give me a call," Pletcher said. "I really like the colt. He's by a son of Storm Cat
, and he worked very well. He's a late foal (May 23) but looks good for his age and had a sound vet exam."
The colt was purchased last year as a yearling at the Keeneland September sale by Southern Cypress Stable for $65,000. He is a half-brother to It'sallinhechase (by Take Me Out
), a stakes winner and graded stakes placed earner of $192,160.Results from OBSC
