Sisters Win Six Races at Portland Meadows

Sisters Monica and Shawna Barber teamed up this weekend to win six races at Portland Meadows Racetrack.

On Friday evening, Monica reeled off two wins in four rides with Shawna grabbing one as well. On Saturday, Monica continued her hot streak, taking the opener aboard BS Golden Mop and then the afternoon's eighth race aboard Tease n' Delete; winning two of her three rides on the day.

In the ninth, sister Shawna guided Mythical Road to victory in the Flying Lark Stakes, the weekend's feature event. Defeating favorite and repeated stakes winner Houston Shuffle, Mythical Road flew late on the outside in time to catch the front-running Keep On Turkin'.
