Horse racing was called off Tuesday at two tracks in the New York area because of the threat of a snowstorm. The Thoroughbred card at Aqueduct on Wednesday also was scrapped; there was no racing at Aqueduct on Tuesday.
Harness racing Tuesday night at the Meadowlands in New Jersey and at Yonkers Raceway in New York were canceled.
Up to 14 inches of snow was possible in parts of New Jersey, with a chance of 15 inches in New York's Catskills.
A wide swath of the East Coast was coated in ice Tuesday, stopping trains, closing schools and courts, and knocking out electricity to a quarter-million people.
The Aqueduct live card originally scheduled for Wednesday will now be run on Thursday.
The live card for Friday will be drawn later this afternoon.
There will be 10 races carded for Saturday, which will be drawn on Thursday.
