Oaklawn Park hosted 62,982 patrons during its opening three days, making it one of the biggest opening weekends in recent memory for the Hot Springs, Ark. racetrack.

On Saturday, 25,780 fans were on-track and the following day 12,065 turned out. Helping attendance was a promotion to celebrate Oaklawn's centennial season. Prices for several concessions, including the track's famous corned beef sandwich, were rolled back to 1904 levels.

A crowd of 25,137 turned out opening day at Oaklawn. Last year's opening weekend, which was delayed a week because of severe weather, totaled 46,304.
