Fond leads a field of 11 in Sunday's $75,000 Busanda Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Aqueduct at one mile and 70 yards. The Dogwood Stable runner is two-for-two around two turns.
TYB Stable's Island Sand rates a contender after breaking her maiden by 12 lengths in the mud at Laurel in October and following that with a first-level allowance score at the Big A. Berkshire Stud's Fait Accompli, a New York bred, tries open company in the Busanda. She is coming off a restricted allowance score over the track.
The field for the Busanda, in post position order with jockeys and weights:
1) Fond (Victor Carrero, 122)
2) Taittinger Rose (Julian Pimentel, 116)
3) Simple Affair (Heberto Castillo Jr, 118)
4) Leedle Dee (C.C. Lopez, 118)
5) Tempting Note (Mike Luzzi, 118)
6) Shamoiselle (Norberto Arroy Jr., 116)
