Street Cry, winning the 2002 Dubai World Cup.
Champion Street Cry's first reported foal is a colt born Jan. 19 at William Taylor Nicholls' Springland Farm near Paris, Ky. The colt is the first foal produced from the Zilzal mare Charmer Venture. Country singer Toby Keith, who owns Dream Walkin' Farm, bought the mare in foal to Street Cry for $80,000 in the name of his DWF Stable at last year's Keeneland November breeding stock sale.
Street Cry stamped himself as world champion for Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin by winning the 2002 Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) by a dominating 4 1/4 lengths over an international field. He also dominated his rivals in taking that year's Stephen Foster Handicap (gr. I) by 6 1/2 lengths at Churchill Downs. Overall, Street Cry (Machiavellian--Helen Street, by Troy) won or placed in all 12 starts and earned $5.1 million. His fee of $30,000 at Sheikh Mohammed's Darley at Jonabell near Lexington is the same as last year's price.
