The first reported foal sired by grade II winner Explicit is a colt foaled Jan. 12 at S.O.S. Farms near Bondurant, Iowa. Bred by S.O.S., which is owned by Steve Speck, Steve Eller, and Ron King, the colt is the first foal from the Star of the Crop mare Star of Eston, who is booked back to Explicit.

Explicit, whose big win came in the True North Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. II), stands for $3,000 at Pope McLean's Crestwood Farm near Lexington.
